Perhaps i'm overly picky.....but this stool even in the short configuration is still not as short as the older model that i have. The difference is the base, the old one the base sinks the piston down further where this one holds the piston up higher. I ended up using the base off of the old stool and just using the new seat as that's what i really needed replaced anyways. the new wheels are really smooth rolling, but noisy and almost slippery on hard floors. overall i'm glad i was able to use parts from both the new and old to make a frankenstool that fits my needs, but it would have been much easier
if it would have just been the same height in the lowest position.
Good stool overall, just be cautious of the slippery wheels on your hard floors.
