Benefits of Wood Gua Sha Scraping Sticks

Wood Gua Sha Scraping Sticks provide a natural and alternative massage therapy. The practice of gua sha is about promoting the balance and flow of energy throughout the body.

Using the Natural Wood Gua Sha Scraping Sticks in treatment is a great addition for therapists, or for self-care practices. Achieve this massage technique by applying massage oil to the skin, and then gently scraping the skin with the massage tool in a downward motion.

The benefits of Gua Sha include improving circulation, relieving stiffness, reducing chronic pain, and muscle aches. Gua Sha can also aid in healing, and reducing inflammation.

Having all four of these Wood Gua Sha Scraping Sticks allows all parts of the body to be targeted.

  • One stick is mainly for targeting the back.
  • The second stick is good for the shoulders, the shoulder blades, and the waist.
  • The third stick is helpful for massaging the hips and thighs.
  • The fourth stick is great for smaller parts of the body such as the neck, hands, and feet.

Note: The redness, or “sha," experienced after performing gua is temporary and completely normal. Although likely to startle an unknowing onlooker.

How to Use

  • Back: Massage using the concave surface from top to bottom. Slide in the same direction each time. Use the convex surface for the spine.
  • Abdomen: Consider the navel as the centre. Massage up and down, with even intensity, do not use too much force.
  • Legs: Start from the knees down, slide in the same direction each time. (If the client has varicose veins or edema, slide from bottom to top to improve blood circulation).
  • Shoulder and Neck: Massage from top to bottom, be slow and consistent. Do not use heavy force. Gentle movements help the flow of lymph fluid and relieve the lack of blood supply to the head, shoulders, and neck.

*Massage each area for 3-5 minutes.

Not as sharp as I was hoping. I don't want it sharp like a knife. I want it sharp enough to scrape the skin. This is a little dull. Other than that, its good and sturdy
