Here are some of the questions asked frequently:

What is a massage lotion?

Lotions can be loosely described as any liquid preparations in which inert or active medications are suspended or dissolved. Any O/W (oil in water) emulsion with a high water content to give the preparation a liquid consistency can be considered a lotion.

To put it simply, lotions are droplets of oil mixed in water.

Are massage lotions suitable for all skin types?

Lotions tend to be light-weight, non-greasy, and are more easily absorbed into the skin. They are excellent for normal to slightly dry skin. Massage lotions are suitable for skin prone to folliculitis/acne and intertriginous areas.

Lotions are normally sold in squeeze bottles with or without pumps and have a liquid consistency.

When to use a massage therapy lotion?

The basic rule is to use lotion during the day and in hot summer months, when you want a product to absorb fast and not leave a greasy residue on your skin.

Can I use a body lotion for massage?

You can, however we recommend using professional lotions that are made specifically for massage therapy use. They will provide more glide and workability.

Are massage lotions quick drying?

Lotions are emulsion types that are usually not fast drying. Depending on the water content, higher water and/or less oil is more drying.

Most lotions are aqueous. Small amounts of alcohol are often added to aid the solubilization of the active ingredient(s) and to hasten the evaporation of the solvent from the skin surface.

Do you sell lotions in large quantities?

Yes, we do. Most of our massage therapy lotions are sold in gallons that is perfect for Registered Massage Therapists. Check individual product page for more information.
