2. Seirin Needles: Seirin needles are a popular brand of acupuncture needles. They are pre-packaged, disposable, and come with a guide tube that aids insertion. These needles are made of stainless steel and have a plastic handle for easy manipulation.

3. Spring Handle Needles: These needles have a coiled steel handle, which provides a spring-like effect during insertion and manipulation. The handle allows for precise control and can enhance the stimulation effect of the needle.

4. Intradermal Needles: Also known as "press needles" or "ear seeds," intradermal needles are tiny, short needles that are applied to specific points on the skin and secured with adhesive tape. They are often used for auricular (ear) acupuncture or for acupoints on the face.

During an acupuncture session, the acupuncturist will select the appropriate needle type and size based on the treatment plan and the individual's needs. The needles are typically inserted into specific acupuncture points on the body, which are believed to correspond to various meridians or energy pathways. The depth of insertion, angle, and duration of needle retention depend on the desired therapeutic effect and the acupuncturist's training and experience. After inserting the needles, they may be manipulated gently by twirling, rotating, or vibrating them to achieve the desired stimulation effect. The needles are usually left in place for a specific period, typically ranging from a few minutes to up to 30 minutes, before they are removed.
