Association Listings for Registered Therapists

What are Association Listings for Registered Therapists?

It may seem like an afterthought, but nearly all professional therapist associations provide listings for their members on so-called "therapist finders." In fact, these listings are a fantastic way to quietly market your business, whether you operate on your own or from a shared clinic.

There will be some lucky therapists out there who have a full set of clients, and need no new ones. But for the rest, association listings are good business. Most obviously, they provide potential clients a way to easily get in touch with you. But if your business has a website, an incoming link from a reputable web page (such as the Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario) earns credibility on Google, and actually improves your rank in web searches. If you (or other members of your team) belong to multiple associations, be sure to use the opportunity for multiple incoming links to your website.

Keep listings up to date!

It's easy to forget that these listings even exist, but it's a good idea to check on them from time to time and make sure they are up to date. Is your postal code correct? Is the phone number going to the right person? Have you checked if the link you left actually works?

When our team at Body Best look through these listings we see a fair number that are either incomplete or no longer correct. Some website domains have expired. Some therapists in the listings are not included in the related "Our Team" website pages. It's just good housekeeping to make sure these are correct and up to date.

Remember Google My Business

If your business does have a website, make sure to claim it on Google My Business, and to update that listing with regular new photos or other tidbits. Google gives these steps a positive response as well.

You earned your membership in these associations, so you should be proud to use all the services they offer. Here are a listing of prominent Canadian associations. It is not exhaustive, but illustrates just how many are available.
